JIM DeFREECE - A WORLD OF KNOWLEDGE
I am a native Washingtonian, growing up in the quaint town of La Conner, WA.
My love for photography began at an early age. I can remember walking around outside the house with a brownie box camera wondering why things looked upside down in the viewfinder, snapping away on the shutter.
I even got to put film in it on occasion.
My real photography journey began in high school photography class with still life and landscape photography as well as an occasional portrait thrown in.
I have a great love of the outdoors and began taking camera with me to capture the subtle lighting and textures of our amazing state.
My work has been on display in various local galleries in the area. I later began studying the “the people” part of photography and in 2008 I opened my studio, Artscape Photography, in the Stanwood area, specializing in high school seniors, family and pet portraiture.
The ability be a storyteller of my client’s life events through a combination of light, natural expression and camera techniques allows me the privilege to capture those fleeting moments and turn them into memories of a lifetime.
Be it catching that tear in Dad’s eye as he is about to walk his daughter down the aisle, knowing both of their lives will be changed forever. Or that soon to be mom as she looks down at her baby bump with great anticipation and excitement of how her whole world is about to change.
I have the best job in the world, let me capture the world through your eyes for future generations to enjoy forever.
RICH WILLIAMS - EXPERIENCE and PASSION
I am an Everett based professional photographer, videographer and FAA licensed drone pilot. My experience in photography, starting back in the days of film, has afforded me a depth of knowledge in many of the technical aspects of what I do.
More importantly, the experience earned over the years has taught me the value of photography.
For me, it is far more than a means to capture images or memories. It is a way to communicate, to convey a message, to tell stories.
It is about the emotion, the feeling and the connection that a good image creates for people.
It is about simplicity.
My work and photographic interests span many genres of photography including Real Estate and Architecture, Aerial (drone), Commissioned Projects, Corporate Events, Editorial Work, Landscapes, Pets, Headshots and Portraits, Sports and Weddings. It never gets boring.
Two areas that I am particularly excited about right now are Real Estate and Sports.
My Real Estate photography is done in a way to captivate potential buyers and tell an architectural story. Coupled with my drone and video work, my photography adds tangible value to what a Realtor can bring to a seller.
With sports, I have begun offering a service that parents of young athletes have come to appreciate. I call it; “Follow Your Athlete”. I am able to capture images that parents want of their kids playing sports at a level that just isn’t possible with their own cell phones or camera gear.
One reality about professional photography is that there are so many photographers out there. So how do I set myself apart from other photographers?
I believe in a guiding principal that I was raised with; to strive to be a good person, to be kind to everybody, to work as hard as I can and just be authentic to who I am as a person and as a professional photographer.
I am very grateful for all of the opportunities I have been given to work behind the camera over the years.
I am a full-time professional photographer. This is how I have chosen to make my living. I love what I do. I love photography.
